Welcoming the newest addition to the family...

Kyle loves me. I know he does. He should! ;) I take care of this man like no other! So...when his wifey "really" wants something..it is only a matter of time before he caves! :) Not using this to my advantage...! But, I have wanted an embroidery/monogram machine FOREVER! I love monogrammed things so much and always figured out how much money I could save by making them on my own! And...making them for gifts. So, I searched and found MY BABY on Ebay. It arrives this week! Is it a boy or girl?...I guess I will have to wait and see! Don't worry..I will be posting my creations and a pic of my new child soon!!!!

Feet Update~one month later

Four weeks ago tonight (already a month) was the traumatic burning of the feet. Healing nicely, but very slow. I am finally able to wear flip flops as my only source of shoes and no more bandages. My right foot was burned more severely so I am still limping with it some in my flip flops. We are headed on our trip in about a week and I already have the sunblock spf 85 ready! :) Week 4

Sip and Stroll

We headed to Sienna Plantation's Food and Wine Event in Sugar Land. Other wise known as the "Sip and Stroll"...or as we called it "Sip and Stumble". There were over 50 restaurants and over 50 wineries. We were definitely full of both by the time we left. It was so fun! We went with Aaron and Patricia and gang. We also got a little "Kinky Friedman for Governor" action!

Lazy Saturday

Well, we were loaded down in the truck, ready to head out to New Orleans for the weekend to be with the family. Mumsie was having her surgery. The heavens broke loose and decided to dump bad wind, rain and lightening on Houston...and it was headed East Bound. Mama C begged us not to head towards New Orleans in the bad condition. So, we turned around and headed back West to Katy. It was flooding around the house so we did nothing but relax and sleep all weekend since we were trapped. Kyle grabbed the camera at how "relaxed" Maddie was. Boy I look hot! Aren't those burned feet sexy? ;)

Feet Update

For those of you infatuated with my burned feet...here is the update! (Just kidding..I know most you aren't). I am only doing this so "someday" I can look back and laugh. There is no laughing right now though...it hurts like a son of a gun!!!! I went to my General Practitioner, Dr. Nowitz on Tuesday afternoon. He has seen me with everything....but not 2nd degree burns on my feet. He said my left foot is healing great. All blisters are open and I must keep this foot uncovered. Right foot is on its way. The biggest blister is open, but there are several small ones on the top of my foot needing to open. So, this foot must be bandaged still to make sure it doesn't get infected. I go back to Dr. Nowitz on Friday to see my progress. I can not wait to wear normal shoes again. The house shoes are for the birds! Dang candied pecans!!!! ;0

3 years together...

Time definitely flies by. Kyle and I had our first date 3 years ago April 13th, 2006. I remember exactly what we both were wearing and how nervous I was to meet him at the bar. I remember crossing over they busy street to the Gingerman to see him talking on his phone in the courtyard area. I figured...I will have one beer...and if it isn't going well, I can bolt. This was a night that turned into several drinks, then dinner, and then coffee. We played darts there with this couple from Europe who had moved to Houston not long before. They asked how long we had been together. We chuckled and said this was our first date. They thought that was so cute. They told us we would get married someday and name our children after them. We can't remember their names! :0 After pints of beer and darts, we crossed the street to Mi Luna for some tapas food. We had worked up an appetite for sure. Neither one of us wanted the night to end...we headed to Starbucks for coffee. It is funny because coming home that night, my next door Jimmy heard me coming up our apartment stairs. He poked his head out the door and saw me glowing..he also told me I reeked of coffee! :)

So, April 13, 2009...I come home from work to find out that at 2:30 pm there was a blazing fire going on behind our house. Right behind the dog kennel. It burned a very large area and came close to our fence. Our neighbors called 911. That afternoon we had firetrucks at our house and firefighters in our backyard going through our gate out back to put out the fire. My poor Cooter and Dixie had to have felt the heat from the fire and I know were scared. I can't even imagine how scared Princess Maddie was. I can say that the turkey mount and all blinds were in tact still. I thank God and my neighbors for watching over our home and our three precious dogs. We could have lost so much that is so dear to us so quickly. (picture above)

My sweet husband brought me home yellow tulips and dinner since I am still hobbling around. What could have been a drastic day ended up turning up. I love you baby! You are my socketwrench!

Easter 2009

Kyle and I went to Easter service with my family to my church this Easter. It was the first time we had gotten to see Reverend Matthis preach. He married us almost a year ago already. The weather stayed pretty clear, well, it was at least holding the rain back during the service. On the way home to get all the food I made, the downpour started! I had to arrive at Chris and Michelle's house with HEB baggies on my feet to protect my bandages. Worked like a charm. We had a great time there. Mimi, Debbie & Haley came in from LA. Dede & Brian came in from Dallas. Gaga and Jeff also came over too! (Today is also the 2 Year Ann. of Kyle proposing!) New add for going green and reusing HEB bags?

So, this picture was taken on Saturday. And...I spent the majority of the day in the kitchen cooking for Easter. This is what the dawgs are looking like right now. Have a doctor appointment on Tuesday to take care of the blisters....eeek! Kyle is still doing a fine job bandaging me!

2006!

Kyle and I's first Halloween, we dressed up as doctor and nurse. Kyle was Dr. Coon! Here is his first bandage change on his patient. My baby did such a good job and never complained..or fainted. Kyle can't even stand the sight of blood. I was proud of him and my feet are surviving. His new quote though is, "Tiff, when you fall off the horse, you must get back on." What that really means is: Tiff, please don't stop cooking for me!

My first time in the ER!

Tiffany Cargol made her debut at the Memorial Hermann Hospital ER last night. Yes, my first time to the ER to my knowledge and I even have a hospital bracelet on. Here is what happened:

I decided to make a really nice dinner for Kyle. Bake him a shrimp fettuccine casserole, fresh bread and make a spinach salad. My salad that I like to make has blueberries, feta, and candied pecans on it. So...dinner was minutes away from being done and Kyle was on his way home. I was stirring the pecans and sugar over a medium flame on the stove to not burn them as the sugar turned to a hot liquid. They looked perfect. I decided to scoop them all into a freezer bag so that they could cool and I could crush them then a little while later. As I stood at the stove (with the bag over my bare feet) my feet instantly starting burning like on fire. I looked down to notice the bag had dissolved from the heat and my feet were coated in liquid pecans. I screamed bloody murder and launched myself into the kitchen sink because they were stuck to me. I used my left hand to help pry them off. I have never experienced pain like this. My phone happened to be near by and I called Kyle crying. He was almost home and freaking out. He got home, we changed me out of my wet pants and headed to the ER. We weren't sure how bad the burns were or how to care for them. We arrived at 8pm and checked in. We weren't led back to the ER room until about 11 pm. As I had sat in the waiting area, my feet felt like hot pins and needles were in them. I also had burned my left hand too. I was in severe pain and barefoot. Once in the ER, I got to lay down. By then, my feet were numb and turning purple. Kyle was beyond anxious to get out of there..so was I...and we were both starving. The nurse and doctor finally came it. They put a burn ointment on both feet and they are all bandaged up. I also got a wonderful Tetanus shot in my left arm. I am also on Vicadin. The doctor's main concern is to keep my burns clear of anything to bother them that could cause infection or breaking of the blisters. We left the ER after midnight to still have to get my meds at Walgreens and get some dinner in us. Thank goodness Whataburger is open late! We got home around 1:30 am. Last night, my feet continued to burn even more while I tried to sleep. The doctor said the burn would keep burning for a while longer and even spread. I got my first doctor's note to miss school/work. So cool! :) So, I am at home, in my pj's, on the phone, on the computer. I am propped up in my bed just hoping someone wants to come over and bring me some food. It is difficult to walk and I can not wear shoes. So, this is my dramatic story. Lesson learned..don't cook for Kyle! ;) or, maybe never make candied pecans barefoot again or use a baggie.

Needed me some Wesley time

Every once in a while, I need me some Wesley time. I hadn't seen him in sevaral weeks. Chris went fishing for the weekend, so Michelle threw a slumber party. Whitney, Kari, Lynn, Lori, April, Megan and kiddos Aston and Ryan all spent the night. We all brought goodies to eat for dinner and wine! We had a fun time.
