We had an unexpected surprise when Mom and Dad C were making a stop through Houston! Aunt Lisa even made the trip in for the weekend. We grabbed the parents and Nanny and headed to the funnest dinner ever...MELTING POT! Everyone had so much fun and it is such a unique experience. We had cheese fondue, meats and seafood to cook in the broth, and then the chocolate fondue! We had the greatest time together!

House Updates
Somehow, Kyle and I conned my parents and Beau to come over one Friday night to help us work on the house. And somehow I even ended up getting my mom to bring over a homemade dinner. I need to remember how I got all this to happen. So...My dad and Beau being as handy as they are...they had a list of things I needed done before the next time I entertain. My dad fixed the broken light in the kitchen! I can see while cooking now! It ended up being a blown ballast that cost us 20.00 instead of the 260.00 in new light fixtures I had already bought thinking we had to replace them. The electrician I had out a few weeks before said our light fixtures were "Sanchez" and that we would need new ones. For those that are wondering what Sanchez means...it is the previous owners that did random things to the house. Anyways..I wasn't fully satisfied with both lights working on the ceiling. (Mom C~you won't ever have to make mashed potatoes in the dark ever again! ) Beau was on full assignment to help my Dad install 4 lights under the cabinets in the kitchen. I want even more light! They turned out so awesome. Beau also spray painted everyone of our hanging light fixtures. The plastic tubes under the lights had turned yellow, so he painted them gunmetal to match the fixtures. I added lamp shades to the chandelier..and voila...we look like we have a new house! We just now need bedroom furniture....
Here is the newest addition to the family! My sideboard in the dining room to entertain from. It is FULL of all our wedding gifts. No more storing the China under my clothes in the closet!

Valentines Day 2009
This Valentines Day, Kyle and I decided we would partake in it very low key. We spent our Valentines Day with the youngest and the oldest of my family members. We babysat Wesley Friday night so that Chris and Michelle could have a nice dinner out without distractions! Kyle and I took him to Cazadore's (our fave mexican food restaurant). We were thoroughly entertained by him. As he ate avacado, chicken, rice, cheese, and beans...he danced in his high chair. He was so good for us and kept us in stitches. When we got home, we watched Snow Buddies. He cracked up at that movie. Kyle started to snore a few zzz's towards the end. Not sure if he is mentally ready to switch from ESPN to the Wiggles! ;) Saturday morning, I baked a cinnamon raisin french toast concoction. It was pretty good. Me and my two special boys ate together.
For dinner, Kyle and I picked up our Valentine date, Nana. We got her at 5:00 pm and were at the restaurant by 5:30 pm. We ate at Tony Carino's (Italian). Nana and Kyle sipped on Bellini's and I had wine. We had a very nice time and Nana told us so many stories from her past. Needless to say, we dropped her off about 7:30. Kyle and I were already in bed asleep by 8:30. We are so lame! I think Wesley had worn us out! :)

Austwell Weekend with Friends
Kyle and I headed to Austwell for the weekend hosting John and Michelle Norman (& Michelle's daugher Kaitlyn) & Clint and Rachel Midgett. Though we caught barely any fish we sure did all add about 10 lbs in the eating area. Everytime you looked Michelle was cooking something up in the kitchen! She made incredible breakfasts! We had a great time!!!!!
Here is my Black Drum fish I caught from the pier. It was so cold out!
Michelle, Kaitlyn and Rachel bundled up and ready to head out!
